About

Nathalie Bruggeman was born in Montreal, Quebec. She is a painter of Japanese-Belgian-Hungarian origins. She lives today in Boucherville in Quebec. Her aptitudes for arts and creation were omnipresent during all her life. Initialed by the drawing, then by the jewellery-making and quite naturally by painting. She finds her inspiration in the frenzy of the urban world. Her abstract works are the reflection of a search for balance between energy, peace and beauty. She is particularly fond of textures which she carves directly on the canvas.
Self-taught, she’s an intuitive painter and she does not hesitate to use various materials such as wood, metal, leather, chains, semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals to create impressive effects and spectacular reliefs. The colors thoroughly applied by superposition are in harmony with her Asian roots. Inspired by the two basic principles of Chinese philosophy, the yin and the yang, the selected colors are complementary and represent the two extremes of a whole and coexist perfectly together.
Energetic, balanced and harmonious, her work of art cause true emotions. Her urban and contemporary works offer a stop in time and make it possible to establish the profile of an artist to be discovered.
